Christmas Spoiling

It’s at this time of year that we tend to spoil the one’s we love.. why should it be any different for our pets?

Some may find it sad however, I spoil my cat almost as much as the rest of my family. I don’t spend as much money on my cat however he does get quite a few small toys, treats, and a few cans of the high-end food.  These days it’s difficult to buy the expensive cat food, and Royal Canin Cat Food can be pricey depending on what you decide to get.  There are cheaper options, however you can completely blow your budget depending on size, flavor, and quality of food.

For my cat, we usually spoil him during the Christmas season in a few ways.  First of all, we’re home more so we get to play and spend some quality time with him.. although that really is up to him.  We may be home more, but he may be sleeping or hiding somewhere.  It’s only when he decides he wants attention that we see him, and then he usually purrs away and sleeps on our laps for a few hours.  Once he’s decided he’s had enough petting… watch your fingers!  There’s usually a warning sign that he’s had enough petting, and it’s fairly similar with most cats.  The sign?  Watch the ears!  When his/her ears start to turn back, that’s a sure sign that an attack is eminent, and if you don’t back off right away, you can expect a tooth or claw to come your way.

We also spoil him with various toys.  Honestly, I think most of his fun is unwrapping the gifts and then playing with the rolled up paper.  It’s almost disappointing when you see your cat have hours of fun with rolled up Christmas paper than the $10 mouse toy you spent time picking out and wrapping.  haha.

Treats are also a great way to spoil your little furry loved one over the season.  There are a number of different packaged treats (various flavors) that I’m sure your cat will love (and purr while eating).
